Right so I'm on Youtube and watching some videos when I looked at my "recent activity" feed and saw that some people were doing vids on this thing called "xtramotion" and it got me thinking...
One of the backdrops for the scene is a studio where you have a desk and a place for two commentators to sit. I got this idea to do something for more than likely DCWL where I could put two characters in there(they are figures with headsets) and have them talk about the card that went down.
The main host of the show is a guy named Ian Strong and his partner is Matthew Blaine. The two would talk about the card and what went down during the show and all that and I think it could be a fun thing to do. I'd embed the video into either the DCWL discussion thread(where this is now) or the "Them's fighting words" section. Whichever you guys told me to.
How long would the videos be? I dunno because the scripts DO have a character limit but its something that I started playing with today and thought that I'd bring the idea up to you guys and see what y'all thought.
Good luck to everyone at the show and I'll be checking on on this topic
later

I've seen that before on a Penn State blog and thought it was brilliant. I was trying to think of a way to use it as a promo at some point but wasn't really satisfied with my options (for instance, you can only have two people on there max).
Your idea sounds great, IMO.

Here's an old Derrick Ford promo to give you all an idea of what we're talking about. What Josh has in mind doesn't involve lego people, so it should be better than this. EDIT: Grr...stupid file not embedding. Here's a link. www.xtranormal.com/watch/6156495/

actually that is the site I was going to use and while they might be "lego people" I still think that it might be something that would be great for the fed. Maybe that's just me but I know that Sam thinks the idea is great so we'll see

There are a bunch of different modes on there and the one with the Bush character (which I picked for Ford for the white stetson) was the lego mode. The others are better quality and would fit your idea perfectly.

ah OK my bad Andy. I wasn't sure what you were referring to for a second.
I'm in the process of doing a preview show for SPW's "Conquest and showing it to Sam. I might post up what I have done here but we'll see

I saw the video, and um... I couldn't take the promo seriously with the uninflected monotone voice, or the goofy lego-esq look of the character. I think it'd be funnier though, if you took vid captures of FPWR made characters doing the taunt with a microphone in their hand and just dubbing voice overs on it.

Yeah, it's not really meant for promo work like that. It's just what I had handy to demonstrate the site (since I had never made one of those videos before). What Josh is planning, though, is a much better fit that should address most of your grievances (though admittedly the monotone voice is standard unless you have your own audio track handy).

www.xtranormal.com/watch/6156785This is the first video I did for it. Its a 7 min + video and something that I actually had a blast doing. I plan on doing another one soon so be on the lookout. As for the monotone voice they do have different voices to use as you'll see in the video but trust me its a blast. enjoy the video and leave some comments if you wish!

Hey, I'm not saying it's a bad idea. I'd probably record my own tracks as I'm pretty good at voice work, give or take a few ranges I can't replicate.
