History and/or Personality: Maurice's parents, Jessica Warren and Hakeem Thompson met while they were attending college at New York University, they would get married on January 12, 1990. They would then move to Jessica's home state of North Dakota to pursue an archaeological dig. They both majored in Anthropology and minored in Archaeology. Maurice's dad was raised by a middle class black family in Philidelphia, Pennsylvania while Jessica was raised in Bismark North Dakota, her mother being a direct descendent of the Hidatsa Indian Tribe that lived throughout North Dakota.
Maurice grew up with a passion for wrestling, his parents would take him to local indy shows and he would watch stars like Jeff "Madfox" Matthews, Andrew "Flash" Tucker, Mark Langseth, and his personal favorite, "Top Dog" Rick Styles. He was always determined to become a wrestler. Which, his parents surprisingly were supportive of. Maurice graduated from High School early, and moved down to Arizona(with financial help from his parents) to train at the Vision Quest wrestling school ran by two famous American Indian wrestlers, "Storm Warrior" Michael Navarro and "The Amazing" Cold Blood. Maurice had found tapes of both of them online, and they became two wrestlers he looked up to as Indians that made it in the business.
Maurice began training at Vision Quest in late January of 2009. He and his class would train four days a week, and would eventually graduate in early June. While training Maurice would take online college classes, due to a deal he made with his parents. Upon graduation, Cold Blood would refer DCWL scouts in the direction of Maurice, which would cause DCWL scouts to pass on film of Thompson to the SPW front office who were quick to make use of their new developmental deals, signing Maurice up and sending him to DCWL. Prior to going to DCWL, Maurice had only wrestled two matches(which he lost on both occassions). Maurice begins his carrear on a high note, and even was taught his trainer, Michael Navarro's, "Vision Quest" finisher. While Maurice doesn't hit it as well as Navarro does, it still is effective and a tribute to his trainer.
During his first two matches he has done a traditional, "Hidatasa" Tribe dance to draw from the spirits of his ancestors.
