I was browsing through some old flash drives and I discovered a batch of PS2 MaxDrive saves, I plugged one and lo and behold there was an old Fire Pro Wrestling save! So I've managed to find a large group of classic DCWL wrestlers, including Sam Smith, James O'Connor and Requiem! Now I'll be able to present more classic matches without having to recreate everyone individually! And on that note, any thoughts on: - Show #4?
- The blog?
- The pace of the schedule?
- And most importantly... how do we attract new people. Right now we've got a core of 4-5 people and I hope to have around 8-10 to make things the most interesting. How to recruit people?

Hooray! I get to lose to Sam Smith again!
Show Four was the best of the bunch so far. It got the SPW folks talkin at any rate.
What we need (and this will help with getting new people) is to make sure we build off of this. There need to be good angles with solid continuity. The whole purpose of Ford/Alloy was to give something resembling this while we got the DCWL on its feet, and I like Corella /Alton West thing a lot. Looking forward to see where that goes.
But I've said it before and I'll say it again: Regardless of the SPW stuff that may be coming down the pike, the big money feud in the DCWL is going to be Bane vs. Thompson. I'm thrilled those two are going for the Grand because that HAD to be the match. It's a good excuse to get them together, but a long feud to really establish the Grand will do wonders.
One question: Will Trios be able to compete in singles matches (and vice versa)? I only ask because we haven't really seen it yet (Complete Control notwithstanding).

Fantastic that you found that stuff! Can't wait to see some classic matches and maybe some "What-If" matches as well.
I'll get to the easy stuff first. I love the pace and the blog. I have plenty of time to come up with ideas for each RP and to put those ideas to writing. The blog is fantastic as it's easy to navigate through the shows you want to see. I find it much easier to find stuff there as opposed to files uploaded to the yahoo! group.
And I must concur about the show. It has been the best of the bunch so far. Wrestling storylines are starting to show up and I'm looking forward to see what happens with Alloy/Ford in the next show and I LOVE the new trios team (although that's likely to involve my fondness for all things horror.) Corella is also a great, fresh addition. Even though we haven't seen anything from him on WotW, his on card stuff is gold and he's carrying an interesting feud with Alton West which is an entertaining, but hopefully short-term, program. I do believe we need more angles and feuds to increase the interest and I'm hoping that Bane/Thompson will add to that. It does feel to be the perfect matchup.
As to get more people in here... I'm not sure, that's a lot tougher question. Hopefully the SPW and SOW people take notice and maybe bring a few more people from those feds. That's the one advantage of being in an umbrella is that people from other feds might stand up and want to see what it's like to actually watch their wrestlers in the ring. I think that is probably DCWL's biggest selling point at this time and might be good to advertise it.

God, I hadn't been to the board in awhile. I did enjoy the last show, and so far my favorite angle has been the Alloy/Ford thing as well. I wasn't expecting that attack to close the show, but it was nice.
I'm also thankful for the compliments being given to my character's work so far. In the past, I've played him as a major douchebag, and sorta' mirrored that "backstage" when dealing with other players in past promotions. Trying to change that though this go around, and have him be a more believable individual, rather than just an over the top charicature.
Good that you got your old saves back though, Jon. I know what it's like to lose old saves. It bites having to start things over from scratch.
The Pacing and Schedule work perfectly for me, as I have a hectic personal schedule and not alot of time for little else. As for attracting new people, I'm not sure how that'll work. I basically was recommended to go to DCWL by Walter. Word of mouth and pure dumb luck play hand and hand with recruiting. I had the great fortune of good timing by jumping into this fed when I did. All I can say is, keep your fingers crossed chief, stick to what works, and hope for the best.
Like the man before me said, DCWL's biggest strength is the oppertunity to see your character actually shitkick another character and the fact that it's based on statistical data, rather than strength of roleplay, adds a more pure aspect to the whole proceedings. Nobody can blame bad writing, or favoritism, as to why they lose a match. That was what burned me up in other feds. Because I did have an attitude problem, I was never sure if I lost a match because of a lack of effort on my part, or because I pissed someone high up off. Like my character, I suck at the politics. The simulated setup negates the need for alot of that politicing bullshit.

More good news! I've finally stopped mucking about in Maintenance Mode for the board and you should have a nifty new skin called "Clear Vision!" It should be the default, but if you can't see it, go into your preferences and it should be there.

I ended up changing it to the Blue Ion setup. Makes it easier to see which posts I've read and so on.

dangerouswrestling.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=chatYou probably won't spot me there all that often. As I'm sure most of the long-timers know, I avoid live chatrooms like the plague. It's a quirk, as I've always been the e-mail type guy. But it's there, and it's free to use.
